Hailing from a mature, close-planted block in the Maple Ridge vineyard near Hahndorf, the fruit was handpicked and Wild fermented in small hand batches, and matured in French Oak. The mostly whole-bunch ferment gives this pinot its drive – savoury, spicy, red berry flavours, and a firm acidity that will ensure this wine continues to improve over the medium term.
Wine Wise: 4 red Stars
“An Attractive dark cherry style with some whole bunch complexity. The flavour intensity is matched by appropriately firm tannins. Give this one a little time.”
