What have we been up to
It has been a busy 6 months at Catlin wines and we have been doing a lot of things. At the start of the year, just after vintage finished, I went to the UK to visit some friends and look at the UK market to see what possibilities are around to expand our little brand. It was a good visit with a few meetings and tastings and hopefully set us up into the future in the UK. At the moment we sell wine into Vinoteca and it is certainly worth a visit there next time you are in London. Fabulous restaurants with amazing staff and wine and food. I then went to France and visited Burgundy to catch up with an Aussie who makes wine there – Mark Haisma. If you see his wines, definitely try them. I then went to Coulieau in the South of France to look at a possible project in the years to come – will keep you updated on how this progresses. I am looking at bottling at the moment with some new experimental wines and and a small parcel of Gamay is also on the way. I have also been to Malaysia and I am hoping we can forge some new relationships going forward with some visits hopefully planned again soon. We also participated in Pinot palooza this year which was a hoot and hope to do more of these into the future. For now, it is back to vintage planning as the buds are just starting to burst and the growing season begins. Fingers crossed for a fabulous 2020.
