This is a wine that has been made for those who want a little complexity in their Gamay. Whole bunch ferments add layers of depth. Add this with moreish fruits and you’ve got yourself a wine that will delight and surprise the most discerning drinker.
The grapes came from a vineyard located just outside of Hahndorf called Maple Ridge. The hand-harvested grapes were fermented with whole berries and whole bunches in a small open fermenter and hand plunged. The wine is bright, savoury and very moreish. It is full of dark cherries, raspberries, stalky tannins and has a delicate finish.
